Start Making Your Home Smarter

smart-home-imageLast year my wife and I bought our first house. I love technology so this was my first opportunity to integrate some smart home tech. I’ve previously written about the Nest Learning Thermostat and how much I like mine. I also installed a couple of Belkin WeMo Light Switches in my house and enjoy the automatic nature that they afford. I will continue to make my house smarter in the future.

In the vein of home automation, last week ReadWriteWeb posted an article with tips to get started with smart home tech. The article is titled 5 Things To Consider Before Wiring Up Your Smart Home and is a great resource for home automation newcomers and old DIY pros alike.

  1. Check out the Legrand Adorned Collection. They have solutions to retrofit a kitchen to add countertop illumination that are over the top. And their switches… holy cow, they are the coolest EVER. I first saw the collection at the International Builders show in February… and now they have a few TV spots. The only thing that could get me to give up my RE Brokerage would be to become a Sales Rep for them. SO innovative!
