Sign Up for OS X Yosemite Beta, Fire Phone Reviews, and More

Not one, not two…but five cool things for you this Wednesday:

  1. Sign up for the OS X Beta Program and you’ll be able to download the Yosemite public beta tomorrow (on 7/24). Wired Magazine has some great best practices for downloading beta software.
  2. Reviews of Amazon’s Fire Phone are trickling in. “Buyer beware” seems to be a common theme. Check out what The Verge, Wired, and Fast Company have to say.
  3. CNET is keeping a running list of their favorite smart home devices released this year.
  4. A few weeks ago we told you about pants that can charge your phone; now there’s laundry detergent that can turn your clothes into air purifiers.
  5. Finally: Google is pretty good at controlling spam, but here’s something you can do to make your Google Mail account virtually spam free.
