Microsoft’s First Desktop PC Lifts Off; Google Fiber Crashes; More in Five for Wednesday

Microsoft Surface

  1. Hard to believe, but Microsoft has *never* released a desktop computer; that changed today with the announcement of the Surface Studio PC. For what it’s worth, it’s got this long-time Mac fan intrigued.
  2. Related: the star of the show appears to be the Surface Dial, a new input device your creative friends are really going to like.
  3. Waiting for Google Fiber to come to your city? You’re not going to like this update.
  4. AT&T just doesn’t make money supplying you with phone service. It’s alleged they’re supplying something else to law enforcement. Boo.
  5. Apple’s MacBook line hasn’t been updated in quite some time, but we’ll learn about new models tomorrow. If this photo is genuine, there are lots of changes on the way.
