Blackberry Is Back; Messenger Is Making Room For Ads; More in Five for Wednesday


  1. Because there are still some hard-keyboard smart phone enthusiasts out there, the newest Blackberry will be formally launched on February 25.
  2. Facebook is starting to put advertisements into Messenger, forcing pretty much everyone to wonder if the good old days of paying for software were better.
  3. Want to encourage your kids to explore science, technology, engineering, and math? Amazon can help with their new monthly-subscription-based STEM Club.
  4. This isn’t the first article announcing 2017 as the year WiFi finally gets it right, and it certainly won’t be the last. Read this one, though; it’s pretty good.
  5. A battery management app in Google’s Play Store was recently removed, which is a good thing because it was actually a ransomware app. Be careful out there, and always try to find reviews of apps before you download them.
