  1. Despite warnings (and more warnings, and more warnings), people still continue to text, browse, and chat while driving. Several new apps will lock your phone when you’re moving, and will reward you (some with cash money!) if you leave the phone alone.
  2. This is just crazy: malware can cause your computer’s LED to blink in ways that reveal personal information on the computer; the blinking LED is then recorded by a drone that hovers outside a window. Luckily, the best way to prevent this is super simple: just put tape over your computer’s LEDs.
  3. Target has shown serious interest in smart home technology since 2015, when they opened the Target Open House in San Francisco. Whatever they’ve learned has convinced them to start selling their own Target-branded smart lamps.
  4. If you’re a Google Pixel phone user who doesn’t yet have a Google Home hub to control smart devices, guess what: you just saved $130. There’s a new Pixel feature called Home Control that can control what the Home can.
  5. Lastly, there’s a ton of stuff you can do via the Alexa phone app that Amazon Echo uses may not know about. But now you do 🙂
